Housing Counseling
The Cortland Housing Assistance Council, Inc. has provided housing
counseling services
to the community since 1981 and received certification from the United States
Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1992. Cortland Housing Assistance
Council Inc.'s primary goal is to assist those in need of safe, decent, sanitary,
affordable housing.
How can housing counseling help?
- You may be looking for a home or an apartment, and do not know where to
begin.
- You are delinquent in your rent or mortgage payments and need some advice.
- Need assistance in home management. We can help you work out an easy to
follow budget, an energy conservation program or offer advice in home improvement
& maintenance techniques.
- Maybe an unfortunate incident has resulted in the loss of your present apartment,
we can try to help you relocate.
- You may be having difficulty with your landlord and need advice.
- You may be a senior citizen looking to access the equity in your home.
Who qualifies for this housing counseling?
Any person regardless of race, creed, national origin, color,
sex, social position or income level, may schedule an appointment with a counselor.
All counseling services are free of charge. Call our office to schedule an appointment.
